Behaviors & Safety must be included in the permission slip. Include that an adult can accompany a student on a field trip. ALL children must be allowed to go on field trips unless parent says no. PARENTS CAN NOT RIDE THE BUS!

Parent must go through volunteer process to attend field trips, field day or any volunteer time at the schools. They must get certified!

Staff Dress Code

Expectations:

All staff must dress professionally every school day.
Staff who do not meet professional dress standards may be asked to leave and return in appropriate attire.
Failure to comply may result in further administrative action.

Items NOT Considered Professional Attire:

Jeans (except on Spirit Day, and only when worn with an official IES shirt)
Short skirts or dresses; clothing with high splits
Shorts, skorts, gauchos, split skirts
Leggings or jeggings worn as pants (leggings are only permitted as tights under dresses/skirts)
Spandex clothing and sweatpants
Flip-flops (leather or plastic, with or without heels), exercise sandals, slippers, or house shoes
See-through, net, halter, backless, low-cut, or off-the-shoulder tops
Clothing with vulgar, offensive, or inappropriate insignia
Stilettos or excessively high heels
Head wraps (hats, scarves, bandanas) unless worn for religious reasons or on designated Spirit Days

✅ Professional open-toe shoes and sandals are permitted, but they must have a business-like appearance—not casual or slipper-like.

Additional Guidelines:

Sleeveless tops are allowed only if they are modest and professional.
Skirts and dresses must be at or below the knee (use the fingertip test as a guideline).
Male staff are expected to keep shirts tucked in, with exceptions made for PE teachers, custodians, and food service staff.
On Open House/Registration Days, professional attire is required—no jeans, sweats, or casual footwear.

As professional educators, Idlewood staff are expected to model appropriate dress and professionalism each day. Staff attire should reflect the respectability of our roles and set a positive example for students.
